PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT - This was a personal project in order to evaluate some of the more “mechanical” modeling tools found in Freeform, Version 8. This model will also eventually be used in the Racer -“X” design exercise.

THE ELF TWIN, model car engine is a working reproduction of a gas-powered miniature model car engine from the late thirties - early forties. These engines were used to power model Tether Cars to speeds of seventy miles an hour or more. Building & racing these “tethered” model vehicles was an enormously popular hobby immediately before and after WW II.

The total length of the actual engine is 4-1/2 “
