PEWTER GOBLET - LORD of the RINGS

PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT - Creation of a digital model that was to be output in a solid form from which an RTV silicone mold could be created. The mold was then used to generate polyurethane castings that were to serve as “tooling masters” for the final pewter manufacturing process.

PROGRAMS USED - FREEFORM V-5 / LIGHTWAVE MODELER

The client had requested that the tooling masters be created 2-up (twice the scale of the final manufactured pieces). This meant that the model would be too big to be created by the 3d Systems 3d printer that I had access to. Additionally, it was too big to be molded using my casting equipment. Therefore, the model had to be built as component pieces.
